Yes you can.... I have done it with Wine. Install Wine on your Linux computer. ...
Wine for Linux is used to get many windows programs to run on Linux. HINT: Once you install IE (nic Internet Explorer) with Wine on your Linux - it begins with their homepage. Simply open the windows registry of IE in Linux and navigate to the registry key for Homepage and change it to like Google.com for example - a page you can navigate from. In other words, the set Wine homepage has only their links to navigate to. Simply set a homepage to what you want to access the world web.
Make sure you have run the Update Manager and have all your Updates installed. If you never have no doubt you may be missing necessary components and updates to install stuff - debian packages thingies are kind of the same as Windows Installer.
Check the linux Software Repository in your Linux install - in Ubuntu called/renamed Ubuntu Software for any additional; Wine stuff. Check also Synaptics package installer at > System > Synaptics Package Manager or under Administration.
